Peps WoW Server

so i have pretty much got a private server up and running Lan-wise

just ironing out a few bugs to make it semi playable

this will require no monthly subsciption, instead a simple WoW install with Burning Crusade will suffice.
If you know someone with a working copy of the game all you have to do is copy their ..World of Warcaft\ directory (burn to a DVD for ease).

ill post up ip details and a link on how to connect once its online

once this is out PLEASE do not give this out to random people

this will ONLY be for us all and our trusted friends.

however once it is 100% up you are all welcome to come and join up

ill be granting admin to a scarce few people but everyone will recieve:
1 Level 70 with
1 full Tier 6 + empty spot armour
2 epic weaps
A swift netherdrake
Appropriate skills (375 in 2 prof + 350 in all weaps/def etc)
5000 Gold

This will be an introduction thing and will not be refunded for a different class, so have a glance at www.wowhead.com for the items you want for whatever class you choose carefully.

At present
Xp = x10
Loot = x40

IMPORTANT:
Private servers do not function as cleanly as Blizzards and there and noted class bugs (lock/hunter) of which i will post up once the server is online.
This is just going to be for a bit of fun so if you come expecting everything to be as it is on retail you will be disappointed.

Ok well server is essentially complete
ive decided not to post connection details here to avoid forum trolls becoming a pain.

so if you would like to get onto the server just either msn/email me (inferno1337@hotmail.com) or send me an inforum message with the user name and password you would like created. ill make this as soon as eitehr i come back online or receive the information.

of note is that i have a ventrilo server online pretty much 24/7

no password

feel free to join as im likely in there but with some music playing.

anyways all systems are go, ill be opening up the server to the net in about an hour from now (its 2:30pm NZT, 11:30amAET) once ive sorted out the port-forwarding to my router and such

At this stage ive only skimmed the surface of the potential bugs.
If you spot something that needs addressing PLEASE make a note of it and send me an email, i will compile a list here of received bugs and fixed bugs once the ball is rolling.

well server is 100% available

of note is there are some major bugs (which ill MAYBE fix at a later undisclosed date).

however in general play its fine

Shadowhawk has been kind enuff to net test and it all works great

i actually played wow again for the first time in ages the other night on the free server and had a blast of a time

Havign finally reached 60 i realised there is some AWESOME fun stuff at this level

so therefore ive decided that in addition to your free uberpwnage 70 ill give you and uberpwnage 60

this means you will receive:
Level 60 in the class of your choice
your choice of 2 epic lvl 60 weapons
Full Tier 2 armor (AQ40 works and id recommend grabbing this set)
Relevant skills to 300
Epic land mount + 150 Riding skill
500G

If your Tier 2 doesnt complement your build (ie Tier 2 for warriors is ALL about protection, if your arms or fury you may not want it) then if you tell me what items you would prefer that is fine

id HIGHLY recommend you dont level this character as there is some fun stuff to explore that has been killed because of the expansion

AQ40/20
Molten Core (altho not much in here unless you want to try for the legendary weapons of Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker).

I can log in to the server but not to the realm.

Got my rogue up to 54, want to take him to 70

just like to advise that unfortunately im running dangerously close to being charged another $10 for goign over my cap (which id really not do)

so as such at this point the server is down until the 22nd September (cap refresh date).

unfortunately the ISP i use counts uploads towards the cap so i cant leave it online at this stage

sorry folks, if i do manage to tip over my cap tho i get anotehr 5Gig of data so it'll go back up if that happens

has it been updated for the 2.3 patch? Is it even possible? wowscape had not done it yet when I last looked (last night)

as far as i can see no it cant be updated
but it shouldnt take long for that to occur

so as is its still on 2.2.3
unfortunately this also means that if you have upgraded to 2.3.0 you can connect to the server, but youll crash as soon as you load a char as obviously content doesnt match

ill get 2.3 up as SOON as i can (basically trolling the server files for a 2.3.0 build)

OK folks server is now 2.3.0 enabled

pre-warning, none of the previous UI mods will work on 2.3.0 but going to curse gaming or similar im sure there will be updated versions of whatever you were previously using

ok well ive been looking thru and at this stage unfortuneately i cant seem to restore the old chars

as its really only me and beaks playing atm ive decied to upgrade the server to a totally different build meaning no old chars will now be available

however i still have the db so if you let me know ill try and get your old chars back the way they were manually (means a bit of work but the new server build is pretty awesome)
